My name is Edwin Camala; I am a tour guide and the founder of Guiding Cusco. We are a local tour operator here in Cusco, and I started this company with Lisbet Mamani in 2023 as an official authorized Inca Trail operator.

Although we are a relatively young company, I work in tourism since 2010 I started as an assistant guide, but quickly became the main guide and thanks to my efforts and development, I started leading groups of travelers to Machupicchu by different tourist routes such as: Inca trail, salkantay, choquequirao, etc. so I could understand the needs of many travelers and at the same time understand that all operating agencies should improve. During pandemic I was able to strengthen the ideas I had about travel in the mountains and to be one of the tour operators.

The pandemic also taught me that most of the travel agencies were only concerned about their profit, that they forgot about those who work day by day with all the traveler’s friends, leaving aside completely their staff and even lowering the salary for the tours made. Most of all of very important staff such as: guides, cooks, porters, and other staff that accompany them daily and that inspired me to build a new challenge Guiding Cusco.

I created Guiding Cusco with my partner to offer something different from other tour operators. We wanted to create treks with unique experiences keeping in mind that we have to exceed the expectations of travelers. visiting our beloved Machupicchu is not just a trip, it is a pure connection with mother earth and nature.

My name is Lisbet Mamani, I studied computer technician, I worked in different companies of the state and also in tourist companies which did not value the effort that you gave, they asked for more and gave less, it was then when I decided that I would not go through the same thing again. I had my first child and nobody wanted to hire a mother anymore, after understanding that now I would have to take care of my family.

My partner and I were analyzing how our jobs were, often not rewarded in anything, at that time we made the decision that we would never again be people less valued for their work, thinking and analyzing it very thoroughly we came to the conclusion. where we had to grow professionally and also as entrepreneurs then Guiding Cusco was born, a travel agency and tourism sociable, friendly and environmentally friendly.

The pandemic arrived and we were unable to work. Worried about the whole situation in which we found ourselves, we began to work on Guiding Cusco, we analyzed more and more how we could make Guiding Cusco grow or how we could make it happen in such a way that while we were in pandemic we managed to channel our ideas, where we would offer our friends visiting Peru different tours to different places in the region of Cusco.

After the pandemic Edwin and I achieved everything we wanted, work on what we are passionate about, return to the place where we are happy, Edwin began to work on what he loves and so much that I also love that many people know where we are from and what we have to offer to the world, our culture, so now is where we sell tours to Machupicchu, Inca Trail, Salkantay, traditional tours, trekking throughout Cusco.
