Day 1
Day 1

Day 1: Cusco City Tour

We will start our day with hotel pickup at 8:00 A.M. and explore the heart of Cusco. The city blends colonial architecture and Inca foundations, offering remarkable history at every corner. We will walk through vibrant streets and plazas while our guide shares stories of Cusco’s past.
Our tour will include the Plaza de Armas, home to Cusco Cathedral and the Church of the Company of Jesus. We will visit Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, now part of the Convent of Santo Domingo. Each site will show the unique mix of Inca and colonial influences.
Later, we will explore Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. The constructions reveal Inca engineering and strategic planning. We will take in panoramic city views from Cristo Blanco. This half-day tour will help us understand Cusco’s rich heritage.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Maras & Moray

We will leave Cusco at 7:00 A.M. and travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The drive takes us through stunning mountains and highland villages. We will explore Maras salt mines, where local families harvest salt using traditional methods. The contrast between the white ponds and surrounding hills will be spectacular.
Next, we will visit Moray, a site of circular agricultural terraces. We will learn how the Incas experimented with crops using different altitudes and climates. Each terrace shows ingenious farming techniques adapted to the Andes. Our guide will explain how these terraces supported ancient food production.
We will finish the day at Ollantaytambo, the last living Inca town. We will explore its fortress, narrow streets, and stone constructions. The town shows how Inca engineering adapted to mountainous terrain. Lunch in the valley will allow us to enjoy local cuisine while observing the landscape.

Day 3: Machu Picchu by Train

We will start at 4:00 A.M. with pickup from our hotels. We will drive to Ollantaytambo station and board the train to Aguas Calientes. The train journey lasts 1.5 hours, passing through high Andes and cloud forests. Mountains, rivers, and valleys will surround us during this scenic ride.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will take a 30-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu. Our guide will explain the citadel’s history, temples, palaces, and stone pathways. We will explore viewpoints for spectacular photos of the Urubamba River and surrounding peaks.
We will have time to walk along terraces, plazas, and staircases while learning about Inca architecture. The site sits at 2,430 m above sea level, offering breathtaking views. By the afternoon, we will return by bus and train to Ollantaytambo, then to Cusco, concluding an unforgettable full-day experience.

Day 4: Playa – Llactapata – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

We will depart Cusco at 4:30 A.M. and drive 3 hours to Soraypampa village (3,850 m above sea level). We will enjoy a picnic breakfast with views of Salkantay and Humantay mountains. The sunrise over the peaks will create stunning photo opportunities.
After breakfast, we will hike 2 hours to Humantay Lake (4,200 m above sea level). The lake has turquoise waters at the foot of a snow-capped mountain. Along the trail, we may spot native birds and llamas. We will have time to take photos and enjoy the alpine scenery.
After visiting the lake, we will descend 1.5 hours to the trailhead. Our chef will serve a picnic lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. We will then drive 3 hours back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 P.M. This day combines hiking, high-altitude views, and nature exploration.

Day 5: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley

We will leave Cusco at 4:30 A.M. and drive 3 hours to the trailhead. After breakfast, we will hike 2 hours to Vinicunca Mountain, also called Rainbow Mountain (5,000 m above sea level). The trail has gradual inclines and a steep final section to the summit.
From the top, we will enjoy vibrant multicolored slopes and panoramic views of the Andes. Our guide will explain the geology, history, and cultural importance of the region. We will hike 30 minutes to Red Valley, a remote area with stunning landscapes often missed by tourists.
After exploring the valley, we will descend for about 1 hour to the trailhead. A picnic lunch will be ready for us at the end of the hike. We will then return to Cusco, arriving around 5:30 P.M. The day will combine high-altitude trekking and spectacular scenery.
